Testing Landing Pages

To fine tune your landing pages you need to run tests. You will test for the following elements:

  • Sales
  • Average Visit Length
  • One Page Visits
  • Website navigation
  • Use of testimonials
  • Different layouts and color schemes

This information can be retrieved from your server logs or a web analytic program (i.e Google). It is important to make your changes one at at time.

Track Traffic Activity - You will need to track the activity of your website. Follow these steps:

  • Which of your SEO/PPC Keywords is sending you the most visitors? Every SEO/PPC engine has a reporting tool to give you this basic information. Use it.

  • Which of your SEO/PPC Keywords generated the most sales or qualified leads? Use those keywords that result in the highest ROI.

  • Which of your SEO/PPC Keywords is getting the more serious visitors to your web website? A serious visitor is one who has the intent to buy your product or service.

  • Which of your SEO/PPC Keywords is sending you the most drive-by or junk traffic? Delete keywords that don't pay.
